Doctrine of Christian Wealth Part 3

Category 3: Common Grace
Blessings God provided to bring us to salvation.
8. We became the beneficiaries of a Writ of Common Grace.
a. Common Grace is the means by which God prepares unbelievers’ souls to deal with the Gospel (Rom. 1:1-4; 16-17)
b. Common Grace is essential for salvation because unbelievers are incapable of comprehending spiritual phenomena (1Cor. 1:18)
c. God manifests Common Grace by using Natural Theology to bring each member of the human race to God consciousness (Rom. 1:19)
i. God uses cosmological evidence to reveal Himself in the nature of the universe itself, which demands that there be an infinite, eternal First Cause (John 1:1-3)
ii. God uses teleological evidence to reveal Himself through the order and regularity of the universe, which demands a Designer (Job 38:4-6)
iii. God uses anthropological evidence to reveal Himself through the intellectual and moral nature of humans, which demands a Model (Gen. 1:27)
iv. God uses ontological evidence to reveal Himself in the desire of all humans to believe in a supernatural being (Rom. 1:18-19)
d. For those who exercise positive volition at God consciousness, God manifests Common Grace in convicting of the reality of sin (John 16:8-9)
e. For those who exercise positive volition at God consciousness, God manifest Common Grace in bringing them to a realization of God’s perfect Righteousness (John 16:8, 10)

Principle: Our positive volitional desire to know God and our decision to believe the Gospel of our Loud Jesus Christ as the only means of salvation is our free will non-meritorious response to God’s offer and provision for our redemption.
10. We received salvation faith form God (Eph. 2:8)

3. We became the beneficiaries of a Writ of Unlimited Atonement.
a. We stood under the imputation of Adam’s original sin, polluted by inherent sin (our Nature of corruption, also known as the Old Sin Nature, the Adamic Nature, the Flesh and the Old Man) and possessing personal sins (Rom. 5:12; 3:23; 1John 1:8, 10) accumulated since the age of accountability.

Doctrine of Christian Wealth Part 1

“God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (Colossians 1:27, NKJV)
Dedicated to Robert B. Thieme, Jr, pastor-teacher at Berachah Church in Houston, TX. He taught us a pastor-teacher’s first priority must be to study and teach Bible Doctrine. Without his dedication and inspiration, these notes would not be possible.
Compiled by: Lewis S. Chafer, Systematic Theology, Vol. 3.
Revised by: Robert Thieme Jr.
Second Revision: Kenneth L. Jensen
Third Revision: John K. Eichmann
God imputes 61 blessings to each believer at salvation. “They are wrought of God; they are wrought instantaneously; they are wrought simultaneously; they are grounded on the merit of Christ; and being grounded on the merit of Christ, are eternal.” (Systematic Theology, Lewis Sperry Chafer, Vol. 3, 234)
Salvation blessings are a system of blessings placed in escrow by God in eternity past, made available to believers the moment they accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
Tragically, most believers do not pursue the Plan of God for their lives after salvation and therefore never achieve the intended benefit from God’s tremendous grace system of blessing. The majority of their blessings remain in escrow forever as a testimony to the matchless grace of God.

Category 1:
Characteristics
Definition. Salvation Blessings are the Grace Blessings God bestowed on every believer at the moment of salvation.
1. Invisible. Salvation Blessings, like all things related to the spiritual life, are a manifestation of God’s Grace and being spiritual in nature are invisible to temporal life creation- the natural world. (Greek κοσμος = kosmos G 2889)
2. Real. Salvation Blessings are more real and abiding than all the visible things within temporal live creation.
3. Un-experienced. Salvation Blessing are not experienced by the emotion or through the physical body’s nervous system, but are revealed in the Word of God and must be accepted by faith.
4. Non-progressive. Salvation Blessings are not given in a progressive manner over a period of time but are given as a complete package at the moment of salvation.
5. Free Gift. Salvation Blessings are a Grace gift from God based solely on the merit of the Lord Jesus Christ and His sacrificial work on the cross. (Eph. 2:8)
6. Un-merited. Salvation Blessings are not related to any human merit on the part of the Christian. (Eph. 2:9)
7. Eternal. Salvation Blessings are eternal in nature; believers will possess them forever. (1Pet. 1:4)
8. Comprehended by faith. Salvation Blessings can only be understood through the Divine Revelation of the Word of God, therefore believers must be taught that they possess them.
9. Work of God. Salvation Blessings are accomplished by God through His sovereign authority and power.
10. Unearned. Salvation Blessings cannot be obtained by any action or deed of any member of the human race.
11. Unchangeable. Salvation Blessings establish the believer’s standing and position before God in the Lord Jesus Christ and cannot be increased or decreased.
12. Uncontested. Salvation Blessings cannot be challenged by any force, neither spiritual beings nor members of humanity. However, the believer’s ability to appreciate and utilize them are under constant attack by the forces of Satan, human religion and the believer’s personal Nature of Corruption. (Old Sin Nature).
13. Orderly. While Salvation Blessings are given to believers as an instantaneous complete package, there is an orderly system of development to aid believers in comprehending them.
14. Exclusive. Salvation Blessings are restrictive in that they belong only to the saved (except the Writ of Common Grace, which God extends to all humans). As a complete package they are reserved by God for only those who are saved in the Dispensation of Grace (the Church Age).

Doctrine of Christian Wealth

Back in the 90's while stationed at Ft. Lewis WA my family and I had the privilege to set under the teaching of pastor John Eichmann. A while back i came across some printed notes on the Doctrine of Christian Wealth as taught by him in 1993. I have decided to re-type these notes in word format so that they will be availabel to others and so that I can learn this teaching better. As I transcribe sections of the text I will post it here and when all of it it finished I will make the entire file available for download. I am endeavoring to transcribe these notes as they were written so if you find a miss-spelling or verse error then it is mine and I will correct them as they are found.
