Category 2: Blessings by Decree
Blessings associated with the Divine Decrees
1. We were entered into the eternal purpose of God (Greek: προθεσις – prosthesis, G4286)(Eph. 1:11)
* Supplementary Doctrine: Divine Decrees.
a. We were Ordained (Greek: τασσω- tasso, G5021) to eternal life. (Acts 13:48)
b. We were chosen (Greek ἁιρεω – haireo, G138) to salvation (2Thess. 2:13)
c. We were elected (Greek ἐκλεκτος – ekleltos, G 1588) in Him before the foundation of the world. (Eph. 1:4; 1Thess. 1:4; 1Pet 1:2; Rom. 8:33)
d. We were foreknown (Greek προγινωσκω – proginosko G4267) of God the Father 1Pet. 1:2; Rom. 8:29)
e. We were predestined (Greek προωριζω – proorizo, G4309) according to the purpose of Him (Rom. 8:29-30; Eph. 1:5, 11)
f. We were selected (Greek στρατολογεω – stratologeo, G4758) to be a soldier in the army of God (2Tim. 2:3-4)
g. We are appointed (Greek τιθημι – tithemi, G5087) to bring forth good fruit (John 15:16)
h. We were declared to be for the good pleasure (Greek ἐυδοκια – eudokia, G2107) of God (Eph. 1:5, 9)
2. God Canceled the Writ of Total Depravity against us. (Col. 2:13-14)
a. All Humans are born under a Writ of Total Depravity. (Rom. 3:9; 7:14; Gal. 3:22)
b. Therefore all humans are both utterly condemned and without merit before God (Rom. 3:10-19)
c. God included a declaration of this Writ in the Divine Decrees (Rom. 11:32)
d. As a result of this Writ, God is free to save humans based on the Work of Christ on the cross (Rom. 3:24)
Principle: If God had not declared all humans totally depraved, anyone who died before reaching the age of accountability or those with limited human mental capacity would be condemned. By imputing total depravity, God is free to impute atonement on those who do not have the capacity to make a choice for or against Christ.
3. We became the beneficiaries of a Writ of Unlimited Atonement.
a. We stood under the imputation of Adam’s original sin, polluted by inherent sin (our Nature of corruption, also known as the Old Sin Nature, the Adamic Nature, the Flesh and the Old Man) and possessing personal sins (Rom. 5:12; 3:23; 1John 1:8, 10) accumulated since the age of accountability.
b. The imputed sin of Adam, our inherent sin and our personal sins were judged in Christ on the Cross (Rom. 4:25; Eph. 1:7; 1Pet. 2:24)
c. The Writ of Unlimited Atonement is a court order issued by God the Father removing all the criminal charges of sin pending against us (1John 2:2)
4. We became beneficiaries of a Writ of Expiation.
a. We stood under the condemnation for sin (John 3:36; Rom. 6:23)
b. The Writ of Expiation is a court order issued by God the Father canceling our condemnation (Rom. 8:1; John 3:18; 5:24)
5. We became the beneficiaries of a Writ of Propitiation.
a. God the Father was completely satisfied with the sacrificial work of Jesus Christ on the Cross (Rom. 3:24-26; 1 John 2:2)
b. The Writ of Propitiation is a court order issued by God the Father canceling out the original criminal indictment under which we were charged (Col. 2:14)
6. Our second birth was notarized in the Lamb’s Book of Life thereby legally certifying our spiritual birth (Phil. 4:3 compared with Rev. 20:15)
7. God established a Sovereign Grace Trust Account in our name containing all the categories of blessings available to us in time and eternity (Eph. 1:3)
a. This includes blessings provided in eternity past (Rom. 8:28-30)
b. This includes blessings in time prior to salvation (John 16:8-11; 6:44)
c. This includes blessings provided at salvation (Col. 1:12)
d. This includes blessings provided in time after salvation.
i. Logistical Grace blessings (2Cor. 9:8; Acts 14:17)
ii. Bonus Grace blessings (2Pet. 1:2; Matt. 6:33)
e. This includes blessings provided in eternity future.
i. Living Grace blessings (Mal. 3:8-10)
ii. Surpassing Grace blessings (Eph. 2:7; 3:20; 1John 3:2-3)
