“God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (Colossians 1:27, NKJV)
Dedicated to Robert B. Thieme, Jr, pastor-teacher at Berachah Church in Houston, TX. He taught us a pastor-teacher’s first priority must be to study and teach Bible Doctrine. Without his dedication and inspiration, these notes would not be possible.

God imputes 61 blessings to each believer at salvation. “They are wrought of God; they are wrought instantaneously; they are wrought simultaneously; they are grounded on the merit of Christ; and being grounded on the merit of Christ, are eternal.” (Systematic Theology, Lewis Sperry Chafer, Vol. 3, 234)
Salvation blessings are a system of blessings placed in escrow by God in eternity past, made available to believers the moment they accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
Tragically, most believers do not pursue the Plan of God for their lives after salvation and therefore never achieve the intended benefit from God’s tremendous grace system of blessing. The majority of their blessings remain in escrow forever as a testimony to the matchless grace of God.
Category 1:
Characteristics
Definition. Salvation Blessings are the Grace Blessings God bestowed on every believer at the moment of salvation.
1. Invisible. Salvation Blessings, like all things related to the spiritual life, are a manifestation of God’s Grace and being spiritual in nature are invisible to temporal life creation- the natural world. (Greek κοσμος = kosmos G 2889)
2. Real. Salvation Blessings are more real and abiding than all the visible things within temporal live creation.
3. Un-experienced. Salvation Blessing are not experienced by the emotion or through the physical body’s nervous system, but are revealed in the Word of God and must be accepted by faith.
4. Non-progressive. Salvation Blessings are not given in a progressive manner over a period of time but are given as a complete package at the moment of salvation.
5. Free Gift. Salvation Blessings are a Grace gift from God based solely on the merit of the Lord Jesus Christ and His sacrificial work on the cross. (Eph. 2:8)
6. Un-merited. Salvation Blessings are not related to any human merit on the part of the Christian. (Eph. 2:9)
7. Eternal. Salvation Blessings are eternal in nature; believers will possess them forever. (1Pet. 1:4)
8. Comprehended by faith. Salvation Blessings can only be understood through the Divine Revelation of the Word of God, therefore believers must be taught that they possess them.
9. Work of God. Salvation Blessings are accomplished by God through His sovereign authority and power.
10. Unearned. Salvation Blessings cannot be obtained by any action or deed of any member of the human race.
11. Unchangeable. Salvation Blessings establish the believer’s standing and position before God in the Lord Jesus Christ and cannot be increased or decreased.
12. Uncontested. Salvation Blessings cannot be challenged by any force, neither spiritual beings nor members of humanity. However, the believer’s ability to appreciate and utilize them are under constant attack by the forces of Satan, human religion and the believer’s personal Nature of Corruption. (Old Sin Nature).
13. Orderly. While Salvation Blessings are given to believers as an instantaneous complete package, there is an orderly system of development to aid believers in comprehending them.
14. Exclusive. Salvation Blessings are restrictive in that they belong only to the saved (except the Writ of Common Grace, which God extends to all humans). As a complete package they are reserved by God for only those who are saved in the Dispensation of Grace (the Church Age).
